In my opinion there were many causes of the civil war. Although slavery was the main cause, in my opinion, many other things led up to the war.First of all the civil war could be called the war for states rights.This could have led to the first battle of the Civil War.One of the more popular causes of the Civil War is the abolitionist movement. This move to abolitionism could have eventually caused the southern states to succeed and violently lash out at the southern states.The Civil War did have more than one cause, but the I think the main reason was slavery.
