Discuss Relationship between Europeans and Native Americans

In general, The Jesuit Relations were objective and realistic, but, at times, they could be harsh in their condemnation of native practices. Europeans, on the other hand, looked at the new society and wondered what resources they could exploit. The Europeans thought the Indians were ignorant; when, in fact, the Europeans were the ignorant ones. Obviously the natives knew how to grow vegetables, such as corn, potatoes, etc., and the European settlers enjoyed them so much they sent some home to their own country. This is how the Spaniards repaid them, by coming into their party.
