You are asked to critique the NEJM article (under Quality) which is an opinion of whether Value Based Purchasing will enhance disparities. Read the article and write a 1-2 page commentary on whether you agree with the author or not. Justify your opinion, citing some evidence but also recognizing that this is not a literature review. The primary purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your critical thinking skills. This is an individual assignment.

In a max of 2 pages, explain:
From what you understand of the Hospital Value Based Purchasing program, do you agree with the author that HVBP will enhance existing health disparities by compromising hospitals that see more disadvantaged patients? Why or why not? (Demonstrate a basic understanding of HVBP in justifying your position. There is no right or wrong answer — I want to see how you justify your opinion based on your interpretation of the evidence.) If you were working at CMS, would you alter the HVBP (in its current form) to reduce the potential impact to hospitals serving disadvantaged patients? If yes, how so and if not, why not?
