What is truly democratic about America?

I. Based on your reading of Owen Wister, The Virginian (1902), write an approximately five-page paper that addresses the following sets of questions, in essay format:

1) Where does the story take place? When? Who is the Virginian and how is he an idealized figure? Who is Molly and how is she an idealized figure?

2) According to the novel, what is truly democratic about America? How does this view work to naturalize social hierarchies? How might this view be considered an answer to the problem of the closing frontier? (Hint: Chapters 12, 13, and the final chapter are especially important for answering these questions.)

Finally, in your conclusion, answer this question:

3) Did the ways that the American West was depicted in The Virginian continue to be reflected in ways of depicting the West throughout the rest of the twentieth- and into the twenty-first century? How, specifically?

II. Technical Considerations

Your paper should have an introduction, thesis, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Body paragraphs should have strong topic sentences that state the main point of each paragraph and also work to systematically develop the thesis. Evidence from the book which is the only source should be used to support each of these points.

Check your paper carefully for grammar, spelling, and awkward sentence constructions. Titles of books should be underlined or italicized. Never use the first person. Avoid contractions and ending sentences with prepositions. Always write in the past tense.

that needs to be used is the book itself, there is no need for citation at the end of the essay, please make sure that you write 5 pages of writings.

Partnership Law
Respond to Chapter 40, Problem 1 on the LLC:
Eric Stratum and Terese Brown formed ESTB, L.L.C., a member-managed limited liability company created for the purpose of owning and leasing a residential apartment building. The term of the LLC was 25 years. Their operating agreement provided that each owned 50 percent of the LLC. Stratum contributed $120,000 cash as his contribution to the business. Brown contributed $10,000 cash at the time of the LLC’s creation, with the expectation that she would contribute to the LLC with services to be performed in the future. The agreement, however, listed Brown’s capital contribution as $10,000 and did not stipulate by how much it should be increased as Brown continued to manage the business. Although Brown was expected to be the primary manager of the business, nothing in the operating agreement gave more power to Brown or removed power from Stratum. For the first two years, Brown did most of the day-to-day management of the LLC. She and Stratum agreed on other actions, including replacing carpeting in apartments and reroofing the building. After two years, Brown claimed she was entitled to a larger share of the LLC’s profits. Is she?
Suppose that Stratum responded by appointing his son to manage the LLC along with Brown. May Brown object to Stratum’s son managing the LLC?
Suppose the relationship between Stratum and Brown has so deteriorated that she withdraws from the LLC. She demands to receive the value of her interest in the LLC. The LLC has a current value of $500,000. How much must Brown receive? When?
Suppose after she leaves the LLC, Brown purchases a residential apartment building that competes against the LLC. May Stratum prevent Brown from competing with the LLC?

Securities
Respond to Chapter 45, Problem 14 on sale of securities:
Amenity, Inc. was incorporated with 1 million authorized shares, which were issued to Capital General
Corporation (CGC) for $2,000. CGC distributed 90,000 of those shares to about 900 of its clients, business associates, and other contacts to create and maintain goodwill among its clients and contacts. CGC did not receive any monetary or other direct financial consideration from those receiving the stock. Amenity had no actual business function at this time, and its sole asset was the $2,000 CGC had paid for the 1 million shares. Through CGC’s efforts, Amenity was acquired by another company, which paid CGC $25,000 for its efforts. The Utah Securities Division sought to suspend the public trading of Amenity stock on the grounds that when CGC distributed the shares it had sold them in violation of the Utah Securities Act. Was CGC’s distribution a sale of securities?

the question: how have the use of private military effected the cost of the current wars?

I contracted with ITT, Dyncorp, and EODT as an armed security specialist. my salary ranged from 500.00 a day plus to 375.00 a day plus bonuses.
Contracting is good because it provided momentary financial gains but ultimately I lost myself in the mist of war. I became a floating soul who’s only charge was to die. I felt immune to death yet I longed to be buried.
When private security in Iraq and the former Yugoslavia, and money lost its value. the thrill of war meant everything. So, I joined the french foreign legion… when the legion wasn’t thrilling enough I left to the Israeli Army but I was too old so I didn’t make the cut.
Half the money I made I spent it in mental recovery which included drinking, traveling, women, partying etc… The other half thanks to my uncle was invested in rental properties in upstate New York.

Now my only desire is to live peaceful.

the paper should contain this information which is listed
