This essay will ask you to discuss the idea of checks and balances and discuss the distinction between enumerated and expanded powers. It will also ask you to discuss whether you feel one branch is more powerful than the other, and for you to support your position using information provided in the textbook, videos and current event.

Look at the text, it tells you why this branch has expanded so much!

5. What are some additional powers of the Supreme Court that were not originally constitutionally granted? How does the Judiciary Act of 1789 further explain judicial power? Cite 3 cases that demonstrate the power of the Supreme Court. How does “legislating from the bench” influence the power of the Supreme Court (see interview with Justice Stephens)?

6. Checks and Balances—How can Congress check the president? How can Congress check the Supreme Court? How does the Supreme Court check Congress and the President? Finally, What role do the media or the people play in checking the elected branches of government?

7. (This should be your conclusion) Based on the evidence provided in your paper, which branch do you believe has the most power? Why? The answer to this question is your THESIS. Use the information discussed in your essay to support your position. Find one CURRENT that reflects/ supports YOUR POSITION REGARDING WHICH BRANCH HAS THE MOST POWER and include it in your discussion. Make sure to cite it in your response. One of the psychological factors that contribute to cyber bullying is depression among young children and adolescents.

The results of this study can be used to answer sub-topic question #2. Psychological factors play an enormous role in cyber bullying, both for the bully and for the victim. This study’s findings are not extremely surprising, as traditional bullies are normally aggressive and traditional victims are withdrawn and isolated. However, this study illustrated that people often manifest similar behaviors online as they would in their daily activities. This study also described the resulting psychological aftermath in a cyber bullying scenario, emphasizing how the constant presence of the Internet exacerbates the mental distress that the victim suffers.

This study also described the long-term negative effects that can result from cyber bullying, and how victims from and perpetrators of cyber bullying may suffer from psychological deficiencies and damage later on.

One strategy that has proven effective for improving population health outcomes is screening. Screening programs for breast, cervical, prostate, and colon cancer allow for early detection and treatment, thereby improving health outcomes. Advocates of early screening programs have sought to inform populations at risk of the value of participating in early screening.
Consider the following examples: In Florida, mobile mammography units have reached out to uninsured women and provided free mammograms. In Maryland, Wellmobiles go out into the community to provide primary and preventive health care services to geographically underserved communities and uninsured individuals across the state. Many such programs are available for individuals to participate in screening, regardless of ability to pay.
In this Assignment, you will evaluate the characteristics of preventive health programs that lead to successful outcomes.
To prepare:

Technology in Higher Education

The changing world we live in has created a strong push on educators to integrate technology into their classroom and daily lessons. However, higher education teachers often lack the technology education in order to integrate the appropriate tools into the curriculum. In a two- to four-page paper (double-spaced, not including title and reference pages) discuss the following topics:

Should technology be a requirement in all classrooms? Why or why not?
Is the use of technology helpful to all types of learners?
What are the advantages and disadvantages to technology use in the higher education classroom?
