Explain why situational leadership theory is useful and relevant in developing an effective leadership culture.

As the new top-level executive of a medium-sized corporation, you have noticed that the leadership culture in the organization has been ineffective, which has lowered employee morale. To change the leadership culture you have decided to discuss this issue with all the managers and supervisors in the organization. Prior to meeting with all the managers and supervisors, you have decided that you need to develop a “how-to” guide on effective leadership.

In a 3 to 4 page paper (excluding the title and references pages), please explain why situational leadership theory is useful and relevant in developing an effective leadership culture. Describe the three theories of situational leadership and what you consider to be the strengths and weaknesses of each theory when leading staff in the organizational environment.

The written assignment should include at least three scholarly sources, in addition to the text, and be formatted according to APA style

Given the claimed benefits of investing in sports facilities, find an economic impact analysis or report for a sport facility.

Essay 1. Week 2 (Due March 15th)
Arguments made about the economic benefits the development that will affect the local community justify the financing of many sport facilities. During a time of global recession when there is a proven logic for governments to spend their way out of financial trouble, the expenditure on sports facilities and supporting infrastructure can be considered a financial lifeline contributing to bringing the economy out of recession rather than an expensive luxury.
Directions:
1. Given the claimed benefits of investing in sports facilities, find an economic impact analysis or report for a sport facility. (Do not use the ones provided in Module Resources, but those can be used as examples.)
2. Analyze what it is meant by economic impact and what benefits it brings in terms of construction, employment, supply chains, local income, and new events.
3. In addition, explain how to ensure a transparent audit trail of how the economic impact has been derived and what its key drivers are.

Technology and Methodology in Facilitating Sports

Environmental policy is considered to be a micro-economic topic, Discuss

Justify your political leanings as they relate to Canadian macroeconomic policy in a blog format. Only use topics covered in “Dinner Party Economics” as part of your argument. For example, you may have opinions on the government’s environmental policy but that topic is not covered in “Dinner Party Economics”. (Externalities are a micro-economic topic.)

Using only the macroeconomic topics discussed in Dinner Party Economics, comment on current (or potential) macroeconomic policy from your own political viewpoint (liberal, conservative, left, right, etc.) What is the appropriate role for government policy in promoting growth, employment, price stability, etc. based on your own political beliefs? A good essay/blog/brief will include the rationale for the positions that you take. Do not discuss topics generally considered to be micro-economic in nature, such as environmental policy, which are not discussed in Dinner Party Economics. (The topic of environmental policy is considered to be a micro-economic topic and should not be part of your discussion.)

Grassroots efforts influence in legislature

Answer the following 3 questions with 1 paragraph each. The only sources to use is the website the instructor provided and the text book for the class but the text book is quoted in the text. The answers have to mention something specific that is in the article to back up the answer provided.
The Texas Medical Association represents the state’s doctors before the state government, especially the legislature. On its website, the TMA discusses how grassroots action can help promote the interests of the medical profession in the state.

Read the Grassroots page on the TMA website http://www.texmed.org/Grassroots_Issues.aspx. The TMA also has pages that discuss their “First Tuesday” program http://www.texmed.org/firsttuesdays/ and give pointers on how a doctor can be an effective grassroots lobbyist to a member of the Texas legislature http://www.texmed.org/Template.aspx?id=5455.

1.
Read through the “First Tuesdays” page. According to this page, what issues are doctors worried about in the 2013 session of the legislature? According to the page, how can the grassroots efforts of doctors help influence the legislature on these issues?

2.
The TMA holds lobby days in which large numbers of doctors and medical students show up at the state capitol. Why do you think that the TMA wants to focus their efforts on a few specific days? Why is this an effective strategy for an interest group?

3.
Your textbook identifies TMA as a “professional group” that “represents the interests of the medical community in state government.” The TMA has professional lobbyists whose job it is to influence the legislature. Why do you think that the TMA emphasizes grassroots lobbying as a supplement to their professional efforts?
