For this assignment, you should focus on the reading material for weeks 1-7 and YOU MUST READ the NORTEL CASE STUDY that is in the resources section of your classroom – It is also on page 535 of your text. If you choose, you may also research the library for additional background about Nortel (If you choose to do some additional research). The breakdown of your paper should be as follows: Introduction of Your Paper: Provide an introduction of the topics that you will discuss below (Base your introduction on our reading material from weeks 1-7-It is basically all of the reading material from our class) Body of your paper: (8-10 Pages total in length)-Your thoughts should be supported with key words from our text. You must answer all five questions below and include AT LEAST FIVE key words from our text when responding to EACH QUESTION. That means that you would use 25 of the key words in our text for this paper. BOLD each key term that you use from our text. This will show me that you are attempting to support your thoughts with key material from our text and that you are able to apply the material from our class. The five required questions are as follows: 1. From an ethical perspective, describe the factors that contributed to the rise and fall of Nortel. 2. What mechanisms should be put in place to better align managers with the interests of shareholders? 3. Would you describe the meltdown of Nortel more as a failure of “people” or of “capital market processes”? 4. What happened to Nortel is similar to what happened to WorldCom and Enron inthe early 2000s, and to Lehman Brothers, Citigroup, and many other banks during the 2008 financial crisis. Why do businesspeople keep making the same mistake? 5. Discuss how to prioritize the following remedies to stop such recurrences: business education, regulation of accounting/financial markets, regulation of incentives, or regulation of punishment. Also, tell me your thought process about your decision about priorities. Save your review as Last Name-Week #8 Paper.doc G. A thesis/ topic in which you will state the issue you will be discussing and the solution(s) you will be proposing and ethical statement is the first part of the delivery. I am uploading one document for you to use as a source. It is my belief that children starting in a dual language classroom from Kindergarten up would be a great benefit to children. All the children with the exception of Hispanics in Texas will be the minority by 2050. They need Spanish/English dual language classrooms. I also wanted to bring in information from the North where children need French/English dual language classrooms. I believe that it is only right to give these children an opportunity to speak 2 languages and that waiting until 7th grade is too late.

Final Assignment
Your research essay should be an analysis of ONE film that incorporates the major aesthetic devices discussed in class: Shots, Mis-en-Scene, Sound, Symbolism, Color, Movement, Editing, Contrast, Lighting, and Framing.
Let us examine the process of deconstructing an entire film’s aesthetic highlights.
Analyze the final film selection through research in which you integrate information on the film as well as information on each individual aesthetic devices within it.
Final Exam Written Essay:
Compose a 9-13 page essay that thoroughly explains and analyzes your chosen topic, in this example, a film upon which you haven’t written. Begin with the history of your film, situate it historically within its time and examine the social construct surrounding it. For example, if your film was Chaplin’s The Great Dictator you would focus on the historical and social implications of World War II and the Nazi Regime as a background to the film’s themes.
As you examine the films aesthetics, remember that your reader is familiar with the film, so you do NOT RECAP the PLOT, scene for scene, but rather discuss the film as though your reader is acquainted with it and the characters so that you can freely make references to it.
You may choose to define each aesthetic principle, if you wish, and then move on to examine that device within the film, or you may analyze the film scene by scene including various aesthetics as they occur. The structure for the essay is your choice.
Include your sources which should consist of books, journals, and computer search information. You should have at least 12 + sources for your work, no more of which
Two-thirds can be from the Internet—the rest must be either books or journals (magazines). Use a traditional essay format which consists of an introduction, Thesis sentence, sections which prove your major points with specific support and correct grammar and spelling.

Critical analysis
The last assignment will be worth 70 points. It will be a written assignment. The assignment will ask you to respond in writing to one of the two practical exercises located on p.253 and p 536. This assignment will be due no later than April 30. Please note for this assignment the minimum length is 2 pages. Warning: This assignment is to be completed independently. I will not accept or grade written assignments that are word for word the same or even close to being the same response. During the next class we will discuss in more detail this assignment. I would suggest between now and next class to read over the practical exercises and decide which one of two you will respond to.
The final written assignment will be graded upon the following criteria:
Critical analysis. This means doing research, discussing legal authorities (laws) that apply to the chosen practical exercise, and discussing varying points of view.
Identify the legal issue(s) in the practical exercise.
And reach a conclusion based upon your analysis.
Spelling and grammar, double spaced, & not less than two pages.
This assignment will be done independently. I will not grade assignments that are exactly the same responses to the chosen practical exercise.
