Hypnotic Intoxication
After viewing the video-taped version of the Hypnotic Intoxication event that was presented on August 20, 2014, please write a paper that includes your responses to all of the following prompts. Your paper should be typed, double spaced, written in complete sentences and organized in paragraph form. It should be a minimum of 2 pages. Save your paper in .pdf, .doc, or .docx format and attach the file below.
Prompts:
Describe what took place at this event. How did that compare to what you were expecting the presentation to be?
What were the most significant pieces of information that you took away from the presentation? In what ways did this information influence your thinking?
What are some potential consequences of not putting this information to use?
What did the presenter do that was effective in getting his/her point across?
What could the presenter have done differently that would have made the information more relevant or meaningful?
Now that you have seen this presentation, how would you describe or promote the event to other students if it were offered again
What is a Pronoun?
For this project, you are going to research, study, and become the “class expert” on a topic (What is a Pronoun?) relating to grammar and mechanics. After becoming the expert, you will then create a presentation where you teach your classmates. Research to include what is a pronoun, types of pronouns, etc.
There are many places you can do research on your topic. One of the most well known websites for writing help is the Purdue Online Writing Lab. I encourage you to compare multiple websites about your topic to ensure the information you have found is correct. Be sure to keep track of your sources because you’ll need to list them in your project.
Also, create a brief “assignment” for your spectators. 5-10 questions is plenty. Include an answer key. (DO NOT duplicate examples/questions from your research. Create your own)

How to prepare for Internship
Choose a recent event during your internship that has managerial implications you’d like to reflect on. You should have participated in or personally observed this event. It should not be the same event as your case.
Please answer the following questions about this event. Answer them in order, putting your responses into separate numbered paragraphs or sections.
The questions are general ones. Since I cannot know what event or situation you will choose to describe, I cannot know precisely what question to ask. You will therefore need to interpret and adapt the questions to your particular event. Do your best. If you’re uncertain, do your best and tell me your assumptions. If you read over all the questions in a section carefully, you should be able to understand what kinds of responses I am asking for.
• First paragraph. Describe the event carefully and objectively, as if you were a video camera on the wall. What happened, when did it happen, who were the key players, etc. Tell me only what happened, not what you think happened. These instructions are harder than you think. Be sure to excise any words that represent a personal opinion or interpretation of the event.
• Second paragraph. How do you feel about this event? What was your first reaction to it? What do you think were the best and/or worst parts of it? Which parts are pleasing or worry you the most and/or least? Did the event remind you of anything that had happened (to you) before?
• Third paragraph. What does an outsider observer need to know to understand this event properly? What is the importance of this event? Why did it happen? Does the event or parts of it suggest any patterns? What lessons should we learn from this event? Are there any management models, concepts or principles that can help us understand this event (better?) (If so, be sure to specify which ones, how they apply and the page numbers where they can be found in your management text.)
• Fourth paragraph. What has this event taught you? If you were the manager, what would you do the same? Do differently? What would you recommend to a new manager facing this situation?
I will again upload my internship description to you. So make sure the event you come up is related to my job position and its related to management. No sources are needed
