Discuss Genetic Screening as Public Policy

Genetic Discrimination Usually genetic information is used for benefits in research or helping a disease but some individuals are concern that their genetic information may be misuse or used improperly for insurance or their employers. This is how the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA) came about. This mean that health insurance cannot use your genetic information from a genetic test or family history to deny you from being covered (GINA). An individual can have the option of doing a genetic test, but insurance companies cannot use that information against them.
