Write a blog post that (1) provides an informed view of how bonds of belonging in culture and kinship relations became severed, and how and why Canada caused and permitted this to happen. Cue in to one or two other specific comments made by selected individuals in the video. Then, on that basis, (2) suggest how anthropological knowledge of kinship relations and culture could be put to work with Canadians at large, to brace up support for Indigenous nations in restoring healthy kin relationships for their people. Think about what Canadians might be missing in their thinking and how to correct for that. Or think about the kinds of actions that non-Indigenous Canadians might seek from their governments or within their own communities.
