1. Critiquing the study/article
a. Title Does it accurately describe the study/article?
b. Abstract Is it representative of the study/article?
c. Introduction Does it make the purpose of the article clear?
d. Statement of the problem Is the problem properly introduced? SDN solving your problem??
e. Purpose of the study Has the reason for conducting the research been explained?
f. Research question(s) efficiency, effectiveness, technical, costs, agility, scalability
Is/are the research question(s) clearly defined and if not, should they be?
g. Is there a theory? or is the problem purely practice?
Theoretical framework Is the theoretical framework described? If there is not a theoretical framework, should there be?
h. Literature review Is the literature/reference review relevant to the study, comprehensive, and include recent research? Does the literature/reference review support the need for the Paper/study?
i. Methods Is the design, organization of the report appropriate for the study?
Does the illustrative company fit with the research design and is the size sufficient to justify SDN? How was your information collected?
j. Analysis Is the analytical approach consistent with the study questions and research design?
k. Results Are the results/conclusion presented clearly in the text, tables and figures?
Are they clearly explained?
l. Discussion – Are the results explained in relationship to the original problem, and they significant for the company?
m. Limitations Are the limitations to your report/paper presented and their implications discussed?
n. Conclusion Are there recommendations for networking practice? Are they applicable to othe rtypes of organizations?
2. Determine the level and quality of the of the evidence using a scale
is the use or not use of SDN convincing in your case?
3. Decide if the study is applicable to your environment
a. Can you use the results and recommendations in your practice?
Is SDN mature enough? Do you understand SDN enough to make a judgment?
