In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century a new outlook took shape, one which differed from the previous enlightenment outlook. With Europe divided into two hostile camps, any disturbance of the existing political or military situation in Europe, Africa, or elsewhere would provoke an international incident.Even while WWI was starting, this radical attack on the Enlightenment had not seeded. Enlightenment had been put in contempt and violence and power corrupted the minds of the people. The spiritual crisis that had preceded the war shattered Europe’s social order and economic status.
